My Why
After experiencing postnatal depression, I found myself asking one question: “What do I want to spend my life doing?”
The answer was simple. I wanted to spend my life empowering and developing people through work.
As I began delivering Mental Health First Aid training, I started to notice something else. Black and Global Majority employees were often experiencing the workplace differently. My own lived experience, alongside what I was hearing in training rooms and community organisations, highlighted inequalities that couldn’t be ignored.
When the Black Lives Matter movement brought race equity into the national conversation, organisations became ready to have conversations they had often avoided. It gave me the opportunity to bring this work to the forefront through the creation of the Race Ahead® programme.
Today, mental health and race equity sit side by side at the heart of EDP because I believe healthier workplaces are workplaces where everyone feels seen, heard and able to thrive.
Our Journey in Pictures
What We Believe

To create workplaces where everyone feels they belong, can flourish and has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

To help organisations create healthier, more equitable workplaces by building confidence, inspiring action and developing people through practical learning.
Every person learns differently, and every person's experience matters. We meet people where they are, creating psychologically safe, accessible and supportive spaces where people feel comfortable asking questions, sharing perspectives, making mistakes and learning without fear of judgement.
Awareness is only the beginning. Everything we do is designed to give people the confidence and practical tools to embed learning into everyday workplace practice, creating meaningful behaviour change that lasts beyond the training room.
We never stop learning. We listen, reflect and continually evolve our programmes through lived experience, research, global perspectives and the changing world of work. We believe feedback is a gift, and every learner, client and experience helps us improve what we do.
Real change takes bravery. Whether it is checking in on a colleague, challenging inappropriate behaviour or starting a conversation about race or mental health, we support people to step outside their comfort zone with empathy, confidence and compassion, because progress rarely happens inside our comfort zones.
